Fine Art Children's Portraits

One thing I tend to concentrate on here at Tracey Dobbs photography with my fine art portraits is the eyes, after all it's all about the eyes with portrait photography. I also like my photography to look like a painting rather than just a generic photograph that will be outdated in years to come, or a forced cheesy smile upon the child. I style my children's portraits to match the mood, light and colours and then they are edited professionally to give the final artistic painterly look. These photographs were taken in my home studio in Abertillery, Wales. I try to get my photography to portray not only the subject but also the emotions, a children's portrait shouldn't be about fake smiles but portray some of their character through the photograph.
